Your Name: A Worship Project
[imagine the voice of Morgan Freeman reading this because it will sound much cooler] Andy Helle and friends is a "band" from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Their worship style sounds like Dave Matthews meets Dave Crowder, sauteed in Dave and Busters. All of the "band" members worship at Bethel Assembly of God. Why does andy keep putting the word "band" in quotation marks? For the same reason that andy didn't call the band "the Andy Helle band". They are a group of musicians that worship together often but they don't always play together simultaneously. For example three different drummers played on the album, as they have several different drummers in their worship rotation at church. Andy enjoys playing with all these "musicians", and they are all his friends hence the name Andy Helle and friends. So you saw that andy also stuck the word "musicians" in quotation marks. (this is bordering quotational abuse). This is because they are not musicians by trade. For example andy is a high school biology/physiology teacher, Richard is a computer programmer and network admin. Terry and Justin are music majors, Tim, Caleb and Jacob are master's commission students, Jamin is a landscaper, and Will just graduated from high school the summer before we recorded. What we share in common is our passion for the Lord, for worship and for music. The songs on this CD were written by andy and his wife, Leslie. He wrote all of the music and the lyrics and his wife helped him pen the lyrics on his first two songs "Fill my Cup" and "All I've Ever Needed." They wrote those songs back in 1999 shortly after they were married. Andy wrote the Chorus to All I've Ever Needed while driving a school bus for Cape Public Schools. The rest of them were written much more recently, but this album has been a dream 9 (in reality 29) years in the making none the less. Andy Helle his wife and his friends hope that you enjoy this album as much as they enjoyed making it.
