There Was a Time My Darling[CD]
Avery certainly is a gem, as a subtle blend of keyboards, ladies, intoxicating guitar leads, smooth bass lines, and energetic drum beats that makes for a sound that many call refreshingly original. These girls play music from the core of passion that burns deep within their very being. They also play for the love of connection with their fans and to simply have a good time. After 6 years of playing music together, the ladies of Avery have mastered their sound, songwriting skills, and musicianship. Obtaining a constantly growing fan base and buzz, the band now strives to take their music a step further. To kick off 2007, Avery self- released a full length album, and did a national tour to support it. Over the years Avery has released a CD on Small Records, and played hundreds of shows, including many large music festivals. They have shared the stage with such names as The Misfits, All American Rejects, Catch 22, and many more. Avery's live show contributes greatly to the band's sterling reputation. 'I have never seen so much energy on stage. The entire band was excellent, and when I saw Janet belting out songs and pounding on her keyboard, I was blown away' - Emily Davis of All Things Rock.com. Avery's music is so catchy that it has been used on several different Nickelodeon and Disney television shows and soundtracks. In addition, Avery has written jingles for television commercials, and has had their songs used in independent films. Although the songs have an uplifting nature which stems from their more pop-driven original sound, there is a raw and edgier undertone to much of their new material. 'Their style, reminding me of Juliana Hatfield, The Sundays, Elvis Costello and The Bleeders all rolled into one powerhouse of original sound, was right on the money. Avery's well crafted songs and genuine likeability comes across with a diamond hard edge and punk appeal. Nina's surefooted bass style along with the blues flavored SG riffs and finely tuned finger skills of Jess lock super tight with Alex's pounding but subtle drumming, giving Janet free reign to move from piano to microphone' - John Pfeiffer of The Aquarian Magazine. These seasoned musicians make up a professional, talented, and experienced band, who knows the industry. They not only know what it takes, but they have what it takes to be the next promising 'up-and-coming' artists.
