50 years ago, while working on "Pet Sounds," the Boys were pressed by Capitol to release another album—hence "Party!" which is, as Brian Wilson describes it, a literal party recorded in real-time. They invited some friends over to the studio, hit "record" and cut loose. The first disc features the original album and then both CDs delve into all five sessions (81 tracks, interspersed with conversations) including unreleased cover songs like "(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction," Leiber and Stoller’s "Ruby Baby," "Riot in Cell Block No. 9," The Beatles’ "Ticket to Ride" and more! Vinyl includes original album only. Capitol.
Limited vinyl LP pressing. Beach Boys' Party! Was the tenth studio album by The Beach Boys and was mostly cover songs. When originally recorded, the band invited friends and family into the studio for a party. Those sounds were then layered over the recorded music for a true party sound. Uncovered and unplugged now strips away those party sounds so that the true sessions can be heard in their entirety.
