Someone in the Next Town
A native of Southern Virginia, Bebo Whitehead has taken his music all over the world. He has twice been invited to perform at the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival in Mexico. He has played guitar for the lovely and extremely talented Josie Kuhn and played guitar on her recording projects, as well as performing with her. Played guitar for Lynn Taylor of Felix Wiley fame. He has toured with Johnny Carver (tie a yellow ribbon, afternoon delight), and with Dr Hook Featuring Ray Sawyer. Bebo was a founding member of The HogBear Band from the Tidewater area of Virginia who toured the East coast heavily in the 1970s and 80s.To hear a sample of the early years, just type in The Hogbear Band on you tube. He was also a founding member of The Forkin' Litz's, a Nashville based group with an eclectic blend of electric guitars, banjos mandolins, resulting in one CD. Bebo's music comes from the soul, and he has pretty much lived the life he sings about; Hearbreaks, Honky-Tonkin', Misery, Love and good friends. His current CD is 'Someone in the next Town', and is working on a new CD, as well as producing a final CD of The HogBear Band, featuring Billy Whitehead on harmonica and vocals who left this world in 2007, and will be missed. He is also producing a project from Billy Francis from the original Dr Hook Band. Bebo is now touring solo as well as with a band.
