Bootleg Series 6: Live 1964 Concert Philharmonic
This hallowed Halloween concert from ’64 has been bootlegged on both vinyl and CD, in incomplete form, deriving from poor-quality dubs of the soundboard tapes. Now, the entire show is being released in a first-time 5.0 surround-sound mix authored from the original Columbia master tapes. Dylan’s first all-acoustic live album finds the 23-year-old rising star transfixing the crowd with just his guitar, voice and charming banter (joined for part of the set by Joan Baez). The stunning sonics bring you right to the room as Dylan pairs protest songs with his new artistic direction: "The Times They Are A-Changin’," "Mr. Tambourine Man," "It Ain’t Me, Babe," "With God on Our Side," "Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right," "A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall," the only known live version of "Spanish Harlem Incident," the premiere of the songs "Gates of Eden" and "If You Gotta Go, Go Now" and more. A 56-page book ties the historical magnitude and brilliant music together! Audio Fidelity.
