The Bio In 1990 after being a bass player and vocalist for other artist, it was time for change. Moving to New York was the start of a great experience.Developing the skills to write and produce music came together in a round about way. First being involved with the world class remix engineers Ernie Lake and Bobby Guy of Soul Solution (Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and the Beastie Boys, to name a few). Second, getting the chance to work with Special Efx (George Jinda and Chelli Minucci). The door was opened to a wide variety of musical influences, from ultra-club remixes to smooth jazz. Including the Jazz Pianist and Chillout Producer Christoph Spendel,and jazz drummer Todd Haddad. Bringing it all together in 1996 with the release of 'Paints A Picture' was the debut release of Bryan J Hughes with 2 charting singles, Shape Of Your Heart, and As I AM.The follow up CD in 2000 'In Your Eyes' was considered a unique blend of soulful melodies and profound lyrics that bought out attention from all over Europe. Now after several years of writing and producing from behind the scenes, Bryan thought it was time to return to the real roots of what makes music sound so good. Getting back to song writing, playing a guitar, and sitting at the piano, just writing something that makes you smile, tap your foot and sing along. Reuniting with his old song writing partner Nashville's own Scott Rogness, with over 40 songs being written and recorded. Over time the top 12 songs emerged with the result coming together as 'The Distance'... The current release from Bryan J Hughes. The new CD is collection of songs that have been written straight from the heart. Bryan wrote The Distance with no boundaries or limitations on who the music would appeal to. From the mainstream pop to country and rock, the songs have a wide range of audience appeal.
