1959-66 Personalita in Ita
A legend all across Europe (it doesn’t hurt that she has sung in 12 different languages), Caterina Valente was born in Paris—but the songs and language of Italy were closest to her heart, as both her parents were Italian (and musicians). This unprecedented collection rounds up all 115 of her 1959–66 Italian-language recordings: traditional Italian favorites, film songs, covers of classics, jazz standards and one very special centerpiece: the CD debut of the Italian version of her complete 1963 bossa-nova album with Luiz Bonfá! As a matter of fact, 80 of these tracks have not yet been on CD; Italian recordings of A Fine Romance; When I Fall in Love; Stardust; Blue Moon, and I’m in the Mood for Love plus songs from Black Orpheus, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Possessed join Felicita; Personalita; Amor; La Ruota; Twist A Napoli; Il Mio Amore; Non Dimenticar; Corcovado; Stella Mia; Poco E Tutto; Sorrise; Forza Papa; Libero, and more.
