I'm Old Kentucky Bound-His Recordings 1938-1956
Charlie was far more than just the other Monroe brother. Blessed with a high, sweet voice and an affable personality, he struck out on his own with his band the Kentucky Pardners after he split with Bill, scoring a few hits (e.g. "Bringing in the Georgia Mail") and enjoying a long career in the music business. However, Charlie’s recordings have rarely been available, so he’s been unjustly ignored…’til now! This new Bear Family set includes his complete RCA Victor, Bluebird and Decca recordings, plus a bonus disc featuring live 1955–1956 performances, all documented by a hardcover book with photos, biography and discography. 110 tracks! Bear Family.
