Chez Jonesy (aka Colin Jones) is a composer originally from the countryside outside Montreal, Quebec, who has been living in Vancouver, British Columbia for over ten years. Music has been an integral part of my life since childhood, and my parents made sure that I had access to virtually any instrument imaginable. Now, I spend my time dreaming up soundscapes that are interesting to me, and hopefully, to the listener. Micro is an album named in honour of my son Callum, who was born in October of 2008. Before he was born, my wife and I refered to him as 'micro jones' (we did not know the sex of the baby). Many of the songs were inspired by him in some way. The first track on the album (Indoctrination) begins with a sample of his heart beat that we recorded using a rented ultrasound machine when my wife was six months pregnant. I am eager for you to hear this latest collection of music. Thank you very much for taking the time to listen, and I sincerely hope that you will share your thoughts with me on email, by writing a comment, or via my website. More music. Chez.
