Description: Chiwawa is Laurie Gordon and Krassy Halatchev. The duo's approach can be described as intelligent pop/rock with techno elements. The style is constantly evolving and always seductive. The heavy grooves and luscious melodies, topped by Laurie's unforgettable, five octave range voice, define Chiwawa's sound. The band is getting rave reviews and their growing fanbase is selling out shows. On stage, Chiwawa electrifies as a duo as well as a full band. History: Chiwawa has been around for about 8 years. Their debut album, "The Sick World Of Yona", was released in 1998. It was produced by Steve Whitfield who has worked with artists like "The Cure" and "The Mission". The duo has recorded 3 full length albums since 1997. Chimeres is the 2nd CD. For the most part, it was recorded and produced by Chiwawa at their own studio. The band's most recent recording is called Bright (available here). Chiwawa was also featured on a few compilation releases (CHOM's Esprit, Darkcell). The band has their own record label, Satellite Records Canada (SRC). They may well be the quintessential indie band/label!
