Though best-known in recent years as a jazz performer, trumpeter Chris Aycrigg made his first start on the classical music scene. An Orlando native, Chris studied with Tom Wholwender of the Cleveland Orchestra. After attending the University of South Florida, Chris made his way to New England where he studied under Armando Ghitala and Rolf Smedvig of the Boston Symphony. Chris was drawn into jazz through the 1950s recordings of Miles Davis and Chet Baker. For the past 8 years, Chris has led a swinging acoustic jazz quartet and has appeared at many Central Florida venues.
