Creatures in the Garden of Lady Walton
Clogs are four musicians from the US and Australia whose work seamlessly draws in disparate influences. They compose and improvise using sounds and textures from across the musical spectrum - the immediacy of folk and rock music, twisted Americana, the complexity of modern composition. The mostly instrumental project is led by Bryce Dessner and Australia's Padma Newsome, both men familiar from their membership in the acclaimed rock band, the National. But Clogs is not a side project, their existence predates the National, and they have released four widely acclaimed albums and have toured Australia as part of the Sydney Festival. 'The Creatures in the Garden of Lady Walton' is Clogs' highly anticipated fifth album, and, after four primarily instrumental releases, contains a song-cycle with extensive vocals throughout. Featured guests include Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond, Sufjan Stevens, Aaron Dessner and Matt Berninger of the National, and the Osso String Quartet.
