When the Cult felt that their 1986 recording Peace sounded too slick, they hired Rick Rubin to remix the album’s lead track Love Removal Machine. They were so thrilled with the result that they re-recorded the entire album with Rubin, releasing it in ’87 as Electric, which promptly became their breakthrough. Here are both albums (Peace was only issued in full in the 2000 Rare Cult box and hasn’t been obtainable in 13 years): two versions each of Love Removal Machine; Peace Dog; Wild Flower; Bad Fun; Outlaw, and more! Beggars Banquet.
