Silver Tongue Devil
At the age of 14, Daverock picked up a guitar and started to teach himself to play. Two years later, he was sneaking into bars to play with some of the most talented musicians in the Lake Cumberland area. He continued to play music all through high school, teaching himself to play bass and drums along the way. After several bands, he formed Fireline in 2003. In 2004 they released 'No Turn Here,' and began playing area clubs on a regular basis, including a gig as opening act for Capitol Records artist Huck Johns during Derby Day festivities at Phoenix Hill Tavern in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2006, Daverock took a break from Fireline to play bass for Lennon Murphy, the supporting act on the Motley Crue/Aerosmith Route of All Evil Tour. After a family emergency brought him home, he returned ready to branch out on his own. He started writing and recording his own album in January 2007. Work on the album was put on hold when he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in June 2007; however, he quickly discovered that his love for original music had a much stronger hold on him than his desire to make money playing in a cover band. He returned home and resumed work on the album, which he titled 'Silver Tongue Devil.' Like greats such as Lenny Kravitz, Phil Collins, Dave Grohl, and Trent Reznor, Daverock used his talents to record the entire album himself and hired a band to perform live. He quickly started booking shows for himself and his new band, Rival 8. With a range of covers from AC/DC and Billy Idol to Maroon 5 and Buckcherry, as well as amazing originals, Daverock quickly proved to be a huge crowd pleaser. With the release of 'Silver Tongue Devil' Daverock is ready for the world to see what talent and creativity he has to offer. With guitar sounds resonant of legends such as Angus Young, Slash, and Billy Gibbons and spell-binding vocals, this album is sure to leave a lasting impression on classic rock lovers as well as the new generation of rockers. One thing is for certain--when it comes to rock music, Daverock is a one-man wrecking crew.
