Tear It Down
As drummer for the Marbles, one of the original punk/pop bands to play CBGB's in the mid-70's, David recorded and toured and got a taste of the Music Business. The Marbles sold some records (one single "Red Lights" made it into rotation on New York's WNEW FM radio). A few years later, he would co-write and co-produce a top forty single and co-produce a couple of albums for A&M Records. But after becoming fed up and unfulfilled chasing after elusive music business success, he left and did other things. But never far from music, David turned to the guitar and began writing songs. A superb band was put together, made up of musician friends and his son Gabriel on bass. The culmination is here in this CD- recorded at legendary studio Sear Sound in Manhattan. All the instruments and vocals were recorded live with no punch-ins, overdubs or repairs. All errors are included nothing has been messed with. Most of the songs are either first or second takes. A few Hammond B3 parts and a couple of percussion parts were added only. It's old school recording-with all the risks and energy of a band playing together, all at the same time. Everything was recorded analogue to tape-the only digital part of the process was turning the final mix tape into a mastered CD. Otherwise, nothing digital was ever used at any stage of the proicess. We hope you enjoy the music. A lot of passion, talent and energy went into it.
