Denny Flanagan, singer and songwriter for the Denny Flanagan Band, grew up in Huntington Beach, CA and attended the University of Hawaii. After his football career ended due to injury, his love for music, specifically the guitar, was given room to grow and develop. He was given John Mayer\'s Room for Squares at this opportune time and immediately began feverishly studying the album\'s delicate guitar intricacies. After mastering most of the songs on that album, Denny began writing songs himself. Amidst his own writing, Denny continued searching for music that spoke to him, and was able to find the likes of James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Teitur, and many others that motivated him to continue. He also found a great niche of friends - notably Lauren Fitzgerald, his future wife, and Andrew Sansaver, a fellow songwriter - who encouraged and nourished his creative pursuits. After his return from college in May of 2006, Denny experienced a very formative two years that included his marriage to Lauren Fitzgerald, the death of his father, and the birth of his son, Dennis Michael, named after Denny\'s dad. Through all of this, Denny was given ample opportunity, motivation, and inspiration to write songs that celebrated, commiserated, and, most importantly, communicated. After writing a song for his dad and playing it at his funeral service in May of 2008, Denny\'s two brothers convinced him that it was time to record his songs professionally. Ted Morton, professional drummer and producer, was the man who could make it happen. Recording at Morton\'s state-of-the-art home studio in San Clemente, Denny and Ted began breaking ground on the project in early June. Denny\'s raw songwriting and honest lyrics combined with Morton\'s professional experience and multiple music-business connections created a nurturing environment for the 13 songs on the album to mature and become the groovy tracks they are today. On the album Denny (guitar, lead vocal) is surrounded by professional musicians Ted Morton (drums, back-up vocals, etc.), Roger Charles (bass), Keith Moreland (guitar), Lindsay Morton (cello), Shauna Thackrah (back-up vocals), Chris Jagich (keys), Dave Archuleta (keys), and Lauren Flanagan (triangle). The album, Quixotic, was released September 19th, 2008.
