Dottie Pratt is a musician, singer, songwriter who started her musical pursuits at the age of 12. Her love of the guitar began, when she first heard the "Beatles" sing on the Ed Sullivan show as a young child. Growing up with a love of music, she began taking classical guitar lessons for two years from age 12 to 14. With this classical background, she turned her attentions to rock music and began playing the music of Joni Mitchell, Carol King, James Taylor, Carly Simon, and of course her all time favorite "the Beatles". After playing other artists music for years, Dottie decided it was time to try and write her own music. When her children were very young, Dottie decided to try her hand at composing. This is how it all started. She wanted to write lullabies for her babies. A lot of practice and desire to write her own music started to become a reality. She has written many, many songs over the years on the guitar. Five years ago Dottie decided to learn how to play the piano. She began teaching herself how to play by ear, with the limited knowledge of notes, after many years of no longer reading music. This love of the piano once again paid off and music has flowed forth from her heart. Her CD "Eclipse" is comprised of "Alternative" Classical, Pop and Folk music from which she was inspired by the wonderful artists she has loved and admired, to create her own style. We hope you enjoy listening to her unique style of songs.
