Windsongs: 200 Praise & Worship Songs
I'm Ed Ryland, father, grandfather, retired teacher, and a fellow Christian pilgrim. My wife, Pat, and I live in Louisiana near our three children and nine grandchildren. We enjoy fishing on the Gulf coast when we're not engaged in things important to our young ones. Once upon a time I performed quite a bit, but leading music has become my passion over the past twenty years or so. Christian music has taken me to places I never would have imagined I would ever go. Twice I was called to Africa, the first time with an interdenominational team to Kenya, then several years later to South Africa. That second mission was as part of an American team present to encourage South Africans as they mounted the first Kairos Prison Ministry weekend retreat on the African continent. Music also took me to Costa Rica on two occasions and to the Dominican Republic. Back home I lead worship at my church and volunteer in Kairos and in Cursillo. I have conducted worship workshops over the years, one of which was devoted to teaching Kairos volunteers how to create a songbook. These learning CDs were developed to help Kairos volunteers learn the songs central to that International ministry. During my twenty years of selecting, learning and leading music I discovered there were very few aids to learning unfamiliar songs. Since I do not read music, sheet music was of little help to me. I became convinced that others like me could use some help in the form of recordings made specially for learning new songs. This 3-disc set contains verse-chorus recordings of 200 songs, ranging from old standards like 'The Old Rugged Cross' to contemporary praise and worship songs.
