Voted 'Best Folk Artist' at the 2002 Northwest Arkansas Music Awards, Effron has become an established artist in his region, moving audiences with an eclectic blend of acoustic folk, rock, country, and blues. His sound and style bring to mind such artists as Bob Dylan, John Prine, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, John Hiatt, and Tom Waits. Says Effron, 'I was always drawn to those artists who didn't have a so-called 'good' singing voice, but could write a powerful song and drive it right into your soul with a voice from the heart.' 'Day in the Sun' is Effron's first CD release. It was produced by Emily Kaitz. In addition to Kaitz, Effron receives accompaniment from some of Arkansas' finest musicians, including: Kelly Mulhollan, Donna Henshel, Phil Lancaster, and John Johnston (all from the group Still on th Hill; Ezra Idlet, of Grammy-nominated Trout Fishing in America; Susan Shore; and others. The album was nominated 'Album of the Year' at the 2001 Ozark Music Awards.
