El Cartel is a union of independent hip hop artists who collaborate and combine their resources to promote underground hip hop in Cuba. Several members of El Cartel are featured in the 2006 documentary East of Havana, directed by Jauretsi Saizarbitoria and Emilia Menocal, and produced by Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron. Produced by Pablo Herrera, this album is not a compilation of songs by different acts, but rather the product of a collaborative effort between the members of the 10 groups and solo artists that are collectively El Cartel. Each song features a unique mix of voices from the best of the Cuba's underground hip hop movement, plus two classic bonus tracks from Explosión Suprema and Hermanos de Causa. The artists featured on this album include: Miki Flow (Explosión Suprema) Magyori "la llave" Soandry (Hermanos de Causa) Kokino (Anónimo Consejo) Yosmel (Anónimo Consejo) Mahoma (Explosión Suprema) Brebaje Man (Explosión Suprema) Criminal de Flow (Explosión Suprema) Randi Acosta (Los Paisanos) El Huevo (Los Paisanos) El Pelón (Hermanos de Causa) Chacal (Grandes Ligas) Karel "Profundo" Melito, Yimi MC Papa Humbertico For more information please visit myspace.com/mikiflowmc, and look for the upcoming DVD release of East of Havana.
