Cutting Deep the Intaglio Project
BIOGRAPHY Take a young man out of Dominica, where before he was saved was a nuisance. His life was racing downhill towards a path that spirals deeper and darker with every turn. A young man that was, and still is very popular with the young people on the north of Dominica even after he's been gone for over five years. A young man with big dreams even before he was saved,he had his own way, disobedient, no respect, no self-control, self-centered, a fornicator and the list goes on. Take that young man, yes, the same one, save his life, take him to St. Croix VI, send him through the fire, let him pass through the waters, and through the rivers, let the rain come and the drought, even the floods, sure, send him through it all, mold him, shape him, press and purge him, root out strongholds and build him. Insert in him love, temperance, longsuffering, patience, kindness, meekness, joy, happiness, goodness, self-control, faithfulness and peace. Don't stop there, give him many songs, let him sing, chant and rap them. Give him books to write and a strong passion to help the poor. Give him one more thing, the anointing, and what you have is another humbled ambassador custom-made by the master builder himself, Jesus Christ. His name is Ernice Gilbert, no titles, just a Jesus freak. "I am here to relay a message," he says, "a message of hope, and of truth, a message that's sometimes in your face, a message you could summon under one heading, it's a message of love" and hence his second album release entitled, ERNICE GILBERT/CUTTING DEEP/THE INTAGLIO PROJECT. This 17 track project of which 16 were written by Ernice Gilbert himself and 15 of which he arranged and produced is sure to break down some walls worldwide. Already causing an unrelenting buzz in the Virgin Islands, soon the world will get it's full dose. The hot and uplifting single you're blessed feat. Nadia is causing people from different beliefs and from all walks of life to listen closer at what God is doing through Ernice Gilbert. Ernice does it in a variety of styles including, dancehall, reggae, R&B, bouyou, Cadance, rap, hip-hop, and worship. "I'm just grateful to be a part of what God is doing in the last days," he says, "cause really, it's Christ through me." Which is the name of his Record label/ministries, CTM Records. Ernice has performed alongside many gospel greats including, Septimus and Stitchie. But when asked about his biggest influence in music, here's what he had to say. "By far Sherwin Gardner is my biggest influence in music, "I look up to and respect that man of God greatly. I met him once when he came to St. Croix in 2004 and one of my dreams is to do some work with him in the future." "I also love Deitrick Haddon, Ceadmon's Call and Steven Curtis Chapman. To back him up is his full band in St. Croix including, three back-up singers, Drummer, Guitarist, bass man, Drum programmer/ Keyboardist and other band members. Doesn't matter what styles of music you enjoy, this album delivers. If you're a reggae fan, tracks 1, (because you knew) and 10, (everything) will satisfy your Christian reggae appetite. If dancehall gets you moving, look out for track 3, (anytime) feat. Kimberly Hanley, track 8, (you're blessed) feat. Nadia, which is the first single released, track 6, (go find them) track 15, (song of praise) mixing old flavor with new styles and track 16, (you're blessed reprise) feat. Nadia and Mr. Quick. (Giving dancehall a little reggaeton feel). If rap's your thing, don't worry check out track 12, (Holy Ghost party) feat. Erudite, with it's addictive rhythm you will want to invite your friends to have a Holy Ghost party with you. If hip-hop makes you grove, make sure you listen to (Jasmine k) feat. Emerald, but please listen to the prelude first, track 4, so you could get the real meaning of this provocative song. Who don't love worship? Everyone does, that's where tracks 13&17 (in light of it all) come in. Ernice wrote the song in the wake of the tsunami disaster, a song that is destined to effortlessly become a hit. Do you love Calypso? Ok, even if you don't track 2 (Jesus) will surely uplift your spirit, it's a song God gave to Ernice in a dream, and now we know why. (Jesus Part2), track 7, a song that declares only Jesus could die to save us will encourage you to stand tall for your God, and it's R&B. The title track, song no.14, (Cutting Deep) is also R&B and it compels people from all walks of life to receive Jesus Christ, a very compelling song. (Pass it on), track 9, a song he grew up singing in high school is laid down smoothly in an R&B format. Last but not least, check out track 11 (everyday) doing it up in the style of his native land Dominica, the Bouyou/Cadance track will give the Creole speaking Islands something to dance about. So what are you waiting for? Don't hesitate, come-on pick up yours today and be blessed. Ernice Gilbert is really utilizing his God given gifts on this album, but it does not stop there. He is putting the finishing touches on one of the many books he's working on. This one is entitled "Personal Christianity" (how we as Christians interact with people who suffer from personality disorders). It's a compelling read that will definitely make you stop and ponder, it's changed his life in the process of writing it and he's confident it will have a positive life changing effect on your life also. Also a major part of his Ministry is CTM helps. Ernice believes that God don't only want to bless us, but he wants to be a blessing through us and there are millions of brothers and sisters all over the world who need our financial support, so they could be clothed and fed. That's where CTM helps come in. It's a very important part of his ministry he hopes to take off soon.
