Called for a Purpose
Washington, DC born singer/songwriter Eureka A. Wright is an accomplished lyric soprano who has a special love and passion for gospel music. Though formally trained, Eureka grew up in the church and has always desired to use her gift to glorify God and encourage people everywhere. During the course of her gospel music career, Eureka has travelled extensively singing background with Stellar Award winning artists Maurette Brown Clark and William Becton & Friends. These liaisons have afforded her the opportunity to share the stage with such gospel greats as Yolanda Adams, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Pastor Smokey Norful, Kirk Franklin, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Pastor Hezekiah Walker, Jonathan Nelson and countless others. From the stages of the John F. Kennedy Center, to London, to South Africa, this psalmist has ministered to diverse audiences spreading the immutable message that Jesus lives and He reigns forevermore!! After more than a decade of perseverance, Eureka has just released her first solo project entitled "Called for a Purpose". The CD is comprised of 10 power-packed songs showcasing the smooth, melodic and passion filled vocals of an artist that has been dubbed "the songbird" by those who have experienced her ministry. It is Eureka's hope that songs such as "Come Back Home", "He Shall Perform It" and the title track "Called for a Purpose" will encourage listeners to trust God's love for them and to stand on His promises knowing that they are yea and amen! "I think that it is important that God's people know and understand that Jeremiah 29:11 still rings true"..."For I know the plans I have for you, 'declares the LORD', plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future". Though Eureka loves ministering the gospel in song, her first ministry is to her husband, Elder Keith D. Wright. She also serves as Praise and Worship leader at New Covenant Tabernacle in Lanham, MD.
