To some, country music is all about harking back to a simpler age. But Family Reunion is one band that is taking that most American of art forms into the 21st century. Styling itself as the first 'virtual' country band, Family Reunion is made up of six anonymous members from across the country, joining up online to create music that both gives a nod to the genre's glorious past and looks to carve it a bright future. The debut album 'Family Album' is a testament to how powerful the spirit of collaboration can be. There are influences on this record from as far afield as the Blue Ridge Mountains, Texas, Southern California and country's very own Mecca: Nashville. The six-strong group - all of whose members are talented musicians in their own rights - combine the styles they listened to and learnt in their part of the country to make a unique 'musical gumbo' as they describe it. That sound has already found an audience among country aficionados. The first two singles from the band were awarded platinum and gold awards by analysts at Uplaya, while both hit the top 30 on the European CMA chart. The worldwide appeal shows the power of the internet in promoting Family Reunion. But this talented band would be nowhere without the essential element for all great musicians: Good tunes. And that's what 'Family Album' is packed to the gills with. Praise for FAMILY ALBUM: Alan Shephard at Independent Country Music Association said, 'There are major labels out there kicking themselves for not having a piece of this release!' Mario Tarradell of the Dallas Morning News said 'The music speaks for itself. Think Lone Star country with dashes of it's mainstream counterpart and a little south of the border flavor.'
