The Fancy Dan Band plays music for singing and dancing to. One minute they'll be tearing through barn burners guaranteed to get your feet stomping and your hips shaking and the next minute they'll be playing whisper soft lonesome songs that will have you teary-eyed and looking for a partner to grab hold of. Ranging in style from rock & roll to country to blues to folk to gospel, the Fancy Dan Band combines American music forms to make a unique sound that is both traditional and modern at the same time. Growing up in the Midwest, as the son of a preacher and a teacher, Fancy Dan realized his true calling as a humdinger folksinger country stroller rock and roller and in 2006 he headed west for the San Francisco Bay Area in attempts to be as Fancy as humanly possible. Starting in 2007, Fancy Dan put together a band with 3 first-rate musicians that now includes Joe Gusich on drums, Mark Underwood on upright bass, and Michael Loebs on electric guitar, who give his songs the power they deserve. In 2008, they made a pilgrimage to Nashville, Tennessee to record their first full-length album in a mere 3 days. After a long journey from conception to completion, their debut album, Born Fancy, was finally released in February of 2009. In the name of spreading the gospel of Fancy Dan, they have their sights set on an American tour and will jump at the chance to play your neighborhood theater, church basement, juke joint, coffee shop, or barroom. Once you come in contact with the Fancy Dan Band in mind, body, or spirit, chances are you will have found your new favorite band.
