Fellowship of Strings
Former student of Robert Fripp (King Crimson) and Art Lande (ECM recording artist) join forces to evoke the muses with an eccentric cross-pollination of innovative string-theories. Their new CD, the self titled 'Fellowship of Strings' (recorded live at Beech Grove Wildlife Sanctuary during the fall Equinox 2008) blends inter-woven melodic lines into a free flowing stream of polyrhythmic counterpoint. You are invited to embark on an emotional and intellectual journey into a strange yet familiar world. A world shaped by sound, where sound shapes manifest from silence to paint a picture of tonal harmony within the mind canvas of the listener. A picture which is constantly changing, much like the waking dream that we find ourselves in this very moment. This music is not an escape from reality on the contrary it is a bridge which one can cross into the felt experience of realty itself, a reality where boundaries dissolve and the question may arise, 'At what point does the universe end and I begin'? What Fellowship of Strings does is nothing short of fathering music into the world, which expresses a quality of great value, namely beauty. Looking from the point of view of the interconnective, vibratory true nature of the universe, one could describe the music which moves through them as 'poetical physics'.
