More Blood for the Strings
Derek Thomas, the brain child of Foot Traffic, has been writing songs for ten years. He is a student of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. The songs are well developed and Adam Stewart, the lead guitar player on the album, has a classic blues touch that weaves well with Derek's stories. The albums theme is about an old man dispensing wisdom to a young man through stories. From the first line on the first song, "Son, I got more stories than you got words" it grabs you and does not let you go. The album also touches upon controversial subjects like the war in Iraq. Derek believes that stories can affect people's lives profoundly. He said one time, "Stories weather read or played out on the stage give us insight to our own lives that we would not normally see. This knowledge can aspire one to great heights if he or she is open to the idea of constantly changing and evolving." Foot Traffic latest offering More Blood for the Strings, could be compared to Modest Mouse, Tragically Hip and Rolling stones.
