BIOGRAPHY. G.Thomas lives in Kristiansand,but was born in northern Norway Bodø,actually started his career as a country artist in the United States in 1979. Still in school, he discovered and 'voiced' his interest in country music 'over there'. His first performance was at the 'Claimjumper' in Park City, Utah. On numerous occasions over the past years, G.Thomas has returned to the U.S. recorded two albums and performed as a guest artist in the states of Utah, California, Louisiana, Tennessee, Colorado, Montana, Kentucky and Texas. He has gained a lot of experience and inspiration from working with highly gifted professional musicians and artists over there. During his visits to the U.S., and particularly Nashville over the years, G.Thomas has established good connections with several influential song writers . His 3 latest studio albums ' LOST & FOUND ' and ' JESUS IN A LEATHER JACKET ' and WISHFUL THINKING, have received critical acclaim, putting the name of G.Thomas up among the top country artists in Europe. G.Thomas is touring Norway all year round. He has also had sucessfully tours in large parts of Europe including Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Poland, England, Holland, Estonia and Lihtauania. Among several major performances in Europe, G.Thomas was the first Norwegian artist at the 'Peterboro festival' in England, the 'Country Picnic in Poland and the 'Harku Jarve' country festival in Tallinn, Estonia, where he topped the bill. His connections in the U.S. have resulted in tours with international recording artists, amongst them Bobby Bare ( 9 tours ),The Bellamy Brothers, Tanya Tucker, Don Williams,Joe Sun and Dave Dudley. Following successful tours with Bobby Bare in 1991/92, G.Thomas was invited to Nashville ( March 92 ) to record 4 songs intended for inclusion on the planned new album ' Lost and Found '. He was so happy with the results of the recording session, that he returned to Nashville in January 1993 and completed the album. The musicians used on the album were the cream of Nashville's session players. Amongst them, G.Thomas was happy to see and work with again, Al Perkins, whom he had met in Oslo, as a member of Emmylou Harris's band ' The Nash Ramblers '. One of the songs on the album is written by Waylon Jennings, who also plays guitar and sings harmony with G.Thomas ( Down Came the World ). Bobby Bare also sings a duet with G.Thomas on his uncle's song ( North Carolina ). Producers on the album were Bobby Bare, Ken Smith and G.Thomas. G.Thomas feels equally at home performing to audiences in small clubs and honky tonks with 200 people - to such major events as 'Momarkedet Fair' near the Norwegian capital, Oslo, 'Country Picnic' in Poland and 'The Harku Jarve Country Festival' in Tallinn, Estonia, attracting more than 20000 people. G.Thomas' appearances on Norwegian National TV channels (NRK, TV 2, TV- Norge), have included such shows as ' Hæla i Taket ', ' Honky Tonk ', ' Gla sommer, from Kongeparken Family Park ', ' Texas in Førde', ' Bobby Bare Special ', ' Rondo ' and ' TV flax '. The end of 1993, saw G.Thomas on a Winter Olympic show case for NRK television. International TV appearances include ' The Loman Craig Show 'Mornings With Ralph Emory,Fox ( USA), RTV ( Estonia ), TV 2 ( Denmark), Kurier Telewizyjny ( Poland ) and Bob De Jung productions ( Holland ) G.Thomas was support act for ' The Highwaymen ' ( Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson ) at Oslo Spectrum in 93, where Waylon Jennings surprised, not only the audience, but G.Thomas as well, by walking on stage and dueting with G.Thomas on Down Came the World, from the ' Lost and Found ' album . A few months later, G.Thomas was also the support act for ' Emmylou Harris ' at Oslo Sentrum . Both concerts were an enormous success adding to G.Thomas's growing status as a country music act. In 1999, he opened the show for Willie Nelson in Kristiansand, Norway and in July 2000 he did the same for Don Williams in Arendal, Norway and Tanya Tucker in Kongeparken a few years later. He has topped the bill himself on many festivals over the years and one of the major highlights being the ' Harku Jarve country festival ' in Tallin, Estonia . In 1994 G.Thomas was invited as special guest artist at the ' British Country Music Radio Award Show ' in Camberley, UK. The concert was a major success which resulted into 14 days tour in England, playing at (among others ) the ' Americana Festival ' and the ' Mean Fiddler ' in London. In 1996 G.Thomas released his hit record ' Jesus in a Leather Jacket '. recorded in Oslo, Norway with his own musicians. That album brought G.Thomas up among the most popular country artists in Norway. The single ( Jesus in a leather Jacket ) was on heavy rotation at the Norwegian radio stations for several months and also played at many radiostations in Europe. In 1999, G.Thomas a live album from the ' European Harley Davidsons HOG meeting ' in Kristiansand, Norway, where G.Thomas performed in august 1997. It was recorded ( G.Thomas "Live" in Concert ) by Kai Stokkeland at NRK in Kristiansand, Norway G.Thomas is a great big Harley Davidson fan and loves to ride motorcycles. A new single " Brother Jukebox was released in 2002 and a new studio album " Wishful Thinking " came out in 2006. Recorded at Big Ears Studio in Nashville with Marty Stuart's live band ( The Superlatives ) and some other great and wellknown musicians.
