Born June 6, 1985, Gem~in~I was reared in Union Springs, Alabama to eventually become a musical advocate of his family of five. His very first performance occured as he was forced to sing a duet with a cousin at age five. Ironically, growing up in the chruch caused Gem~in~I to aquire an infatuation with music; the rhythm of the drums, melody of the keys, and timbre of the voice. By 1995, Gem~in~I had joined his middle school choir and enrolled in piano lessons. To further cultivate his talents, Gem~in~I later joined the church choir, where he exercised lead vocals and harmonization; school choir, acting as tenor section leader and traveling throughout Alabama; and school bands, being exposed to various genres of music. After being inspired by male groups of the era, Gem~in~I was co-founder, writer and arranger for a five-member male group. Around 1999, Gem~in~I was tenor of a youth gospel group called 'Voices of Youth', being introduced to studio recording and opening a praise conference live recording for Minister Renetha Macklin and Praise Team Ministries of San Antonio, Texas. Gem~in~I spent the summer of 2002 attending the Alabama Governer's School of Arts and Technology's Choral music program, serving as bass section leader, and soon thereafter doing the same in Birmingham, Alabama's Miles College Golden Voices Choir, rendering solos during several Midwest tour shows. From 2005 to present, Gem~in~I has been residing in Montgomery, Alabama, where he is independently writing, arranging, co-producing and recording for personal pleasure. He also lends his voice to numerous weddings, programs, parties and other events across Central Alabama. Through the encouragement, inspiration, and motivation of others, Gem~in~I now realizes the power and value of his gift and considering the current state of society, he vows to cry out a song of optimism, peace, love, romance, self-worth and pleasurable life. Gem~in~I plans to do this through whatever avenue God sees fit. With strong influences from music moguls such as Luther Vandross, Boyz II Men, Ella Fitzgerald, Kim Burrell, India Arie, Brandy, Music Soulchild and John Legend, Gem~in~I portrays these positive messages through a medium where Soul meets R&B, topped with a unique jazzy, baritonal vocal style.
