Formed in late 2006, Headwind stands out from other Christian bands. Ask them what it is that has helped them get where they are today, and they will give you one word: "God." The five-man Christian rock band from Central Kentucky knows everything around them is a gift from God that should not be taken for granted. They have encountered many obstacles and attained many rewards on their journey, yet, without God, they would be nowhere. Articulate, thought-provoking lyrics and scintillating guitar riffs create songs that never leave your mind. In an effort to mix secular music with a Christian message, Headwind's influences include Christian bands such as Red and secular bands in the vein of Breaking Benjamin. In February, Headwind traveled to Nashville with a handful of songs to record their EP with esteemed Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated producer Barry Blair. After their journey the band had a refined sense of music and began writing once again. The band has played shows in and around Central Kentucky at various venues and traveled as far as Chicago. Also, they have been selected to play at the Ichthus Music Festival in Wilmore, Kentucky. Their determination and resilience prove that they will be around for years to come.
