Far from Home
'Far From Home' is the latest album from Murder the Stout's flamboyant squeezebox player, Hugh Morrison. This album offers a varied selection of Celtic tunes and songs using instruments traditionally associated with good ceilidh music. The content and performance are influenced by both his background in Scottish dance and pipe music and the Irish/Celtic styles popular in the U.S., where he is now based. Hugh himself switches easily between two and three-row button boxes and is ably supported by Barbara Downie, Mike Snelling, Tom Jenkins, Don Gabbert, Gerard Bride, Neil DuFore, Sarah Morrison and Lizzy Snelling. Together, with their flair and imagination, they conjure up some real 'Celtic magic' Instruments include button accordion, fiddle, whistles, acoustic guitars and bohran backed by lively driven bass guitar and drums with which creates a real 'Ceilidh' sound. Add to that the traditional songs and you have a complete Celtic collection on one CD.
