Hundred Air is Adam Price's band and his first album is called Makeout City. Adam writes, plays guitar and sings. Adam is formerly of semi-quasi-barely-not really-famous indie pop band the Mayflies USA, was a founding member of the Comas, and currently plays bass with Work Clothes. Lee Waters (Work Clothes, The Essex Green) played drums. Additional instrumentation and vocals provided by Jeff Clarke (Portastatic, ex Cub Country) and Jenny Waters (Work Clothes). Recorded by Brian Paulson (Beck, Wilco, The Rosebuds). Hundred Air doesn't necessarily sound like a lot of other bands, but they draw inspiration from many; the Kinks, the Beatles, the Shins, Nick Lowe, Wilco or The Pernice Brothers. Reviews: 'a wonderfully rich album of timeless sounding power pop. Both in bio and in sound, Hundred Air references and recalls bands like The Beatles and The Shins. This is a delightful record that shouldn't be missed by anyone who truly values songcraft, quality production and the type of melodies that get stuck in your brain and don't leave for days.' Pop Matters 'Hundred Air explores lush, loose space so well here, much like Nada Surf has done for it's last three records.' The Independent 'Pop music works best when it feels effortless, as though it's melodies have always existed somewhere. Songs become instantly memorable, choruses instantly sing-along-able. In Make Out City, pop sensibilities run wild, creating an instantly ear-pleasing listen that is over all too quickly' UNC Daily Tarheel 'an instantly pleasing collection of mid-tempo pop with the main focus being lyrics and vocal melodies. The arrangements are appropriately sparse...which allow the vocals to shine through loud and clear. And that is fortunate...because Price has a cool, understated, somewhat deep voice that really makes these tunes shine.' babysue.
