In This Century
Formed in 2005, In This Century is gaining popularity in their native Vermont for a unique blend of folk, rock and alt-country. Wearing influences that run from Merl Haggard and Johnny Cash to Fugazi and Neutral Milk Hotel, their sound is readily accessible, but rarely formulaic. This hybrid style has proven to be popular with listeners of all ages and backgrounds. With each of the members having already established themselves in other musical endeavors, In This Century began as a casual side project between four childhood friends. It was during these informal sessions that a distinctive chemistry formed within the group. This led to the creation of a prolific amount of material that the band deemed ready for live presentation. The result is a sound that consistently references specific genres such as county, folk, bluegrass and rockabilly, but transcends the boundaries of those styles.
