Title:
How To Strip For Your Husband / More How To Strip For Your Husband
Artist:
Sonny Lester & Ann Corio
At first, we thought maybe this might be a little 'too' sexist, but then we remembered that just a few floors below us at our LA-based headquarters there is a wildly popular pole-dancing exercise class owned and operated by a woman, so we figured this is okay in today's post-feminist age! Ann Corio was, of course, the legendary burlesque queen who brought her art form into the modern age with her Broadway show 'This Is Burlesque'; her contribution to these albums (the first of which caressed the charts at #56 in 1963) was an instructional booklet on how to strip for your husband which we've reproduced here for tips or giggles or both depending on your mood. The music, meanwhile, was provided by noted jazz producer Sonny Lester and his band; it's some some serious bump ‘n' grind jazz, with a little exotic, Middle Eastern-flavored spice thrown in for those of a more, er, adventurous persuasion. Includes 'For Strippers Only; Seduction of the Virgin Princess; Shivas Regal; A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody; Lament; The Raid; Turkish; Blues to Strip By; Walkin' & Strippin'; Bumps & Grinds; Easter Parade; Lonely Little G-String; Big Millie from Philly; The Late Late Show; Perfume and Pink Chiffon; Swingin' Shepherd Blues; Lullaby of Birdland; More Bumps and Grinds; Strip Poker; Stripper's Holiday; A Woman; Dixie Belle; Play the Blues for Masie', and 'Mable Get Sable Cha Cha Cha'. The subtitle to these charming records is “Music to Make Marriage Merrier;” they'll definitely make any get-together a merry occasion indeed. A 'Collectors' Choice Music' exclusive, out April 13!
