St. Louis native Jane Godfrey has been singing and playing guitar most of her life. Coming from a large family of musicians and artists, Jane has always been creatively inclined. While in her insomniac phase around the turn of the century, Jane turned to songwriting as a creative outlet for her own amusement. Jane's passion for songwriting grew, prompting roadtrips to Nashville where her skills were nurtured by attending songwriting workshops and performing at writers' showcases, including the infamous Bluebird Café. Jane was encouraged, while on the road to the creation of her own CD, by having two of her songs included in compilation CD's. Jane's song, "Finally Loving Myself" can be heard on Gracie Vandiver and Friends' recovery music CD, "Trail of Light", which also includes such songwriting greats as Paul Williams and Mary Gauthier; and "Thank You Ms Juliette" is on the Girl Scouts of the USA's CD, "Sisters Hand in Hand". Jane's own debut CD, "Choose Beauty", includes 12 songs, many of which are enhanced by a blend of sibling harmonies and musicianship. "Choose Beauty" is a collection of original Americana songs, grown from Jane's imagination, experience, and observations of the drama, comedy, and beauty in everyday life.
