Janna is an introspective, spiritual, and philosophical singer/songwriter. She has been referred to as a vocal stylist...a singer who breathes emotion and true dynamics into each lyric, every note. Self-taught, genetics (her mother is a classical singer, her father an Arabic oud player and singer) and a soul as big as the moon are the key ingredients to what make Janna the performer, singer, and songwriter she is. Being a yoga instructor, as well, certainly opens her senses to the real-world lyrical concepts her latest CD, The Human Race, is filled with. The Human Race has garnered interest overseas, and is getting radioplay on several radio stations in Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. What makes The Human Race especially close to her heart is that midway through production Janna was diagnosed with cancer. She completed the recording, editing, and mastering, as well as artwork and distribution, while undergoing treatment. A mere 24 hours before her last cycle of chemotherapy UPS delivered five boxes of CDs from Discmakers...a beautiful ending to the cancer journey, and a poetic beginning to her new life. Janna continues to tour to promote the CD. Having performed at over 1,500 live shows over the years, audiences are engaged and hypnotized by Janna's ethereal voice presence. Janna brings a newness and delight into each show as if it were her first-- she is humble to the core. We hope you enjoy the diversity and purity of the music.
