ABOUT SPIRIT CALL SPIRIT CALL, Jeff Gardner's first solo piano album, was recorded in Paris at Studio Acousti by the legendary sound engineer Alain Clouzeau. The material ranges from bossa to bebop, modal jazz, flamenco, modern classical, and other styles that Jeff has distilled in his original compositions. Two bonus tracks, recorded in concert at Maison de la Radio France in Paris, include a beautiful ballad, Joanne, by the late great Brazilian saxophonist-composer Victor Assis Brasil and a longer live version of the title track, with an intro verging on classical contemporary music.
