After three albums fronting alt rock band Ours, Jimmy Gnecco's first solo album is arguably the most personal and affecting work of his career. Self-produced and titled 'The Heart,' it's a watershed work which sees Jimmy drop his guard and raise the bar. We all have to reckon with loss and the events that have shaped US sooner or later, and this record is Gnecco's compelling attempt to do just that. Though Jimmy plays every instrument on the album, it's his evocative, soulful voice that takes centre stage, creating 15 songs with a potent mix of intimacy, integrity and beautiful melancholy.
