A graduate of Laval University, where he now shares his knowledge with the jazz interpretation students, Joël Thibault and his saxophone have played in many of the world's biggest cities, especially in Asia, where he accompanied pianist and composer Steve Barakatt on many tours. A festival regular, invited soloist of the Estuaire Symphonic Orchestra (Rimouski) in 2000 and 2001, he also went on stage in Québec and Montreal in the musical Grease and, more recently, in Showman, Martin Fontaine's new production. He cherished and nurtured this first album for a long time, bringing it slowly to maturity before offering it to us. You'll listen to it with delight, then you'll stow it away preciously, jealously... close at hand.
