Outside the Office
Julie Gatz is a singer / songwriter who has been singing and writing since she was very young. Eight of her original works are on her debut album, "Outside the Office". With a sultry, full-bodied voice, jazz style and a touch of pop, Julie creates eclectic, full-bodied music that captures the human emotions behind honesty, anger, struggle, determination, pride, romance, love and more. Her inspirations include Diana Krall, Eva Cassidy, Billy Joel, Sting, Nora Jones, Linda Eder & Tori Amos. For "Outside the Office", she teams with producer, Eric Goetz and the best Seattle talent including pianist/composer, Walt Wagner; Hans Teuber, sax and clarinet; Hans York, guitar; and drummer, Chris Stromquist to create this masterpiece. Born and raised in Seattle, Julie Gatz studied music and vocal performance through high school and into college. Currently she trains with Awilda Verdejo, a classically trained vocalist in the Seattle Area and regularly performs with Bluestreet Jazz Voices. Julie's musical theater performances include her work as one of the 'Sorrenson Sisters' in 'A KUPC Christmas' She also performed with Eastside Musical Theater in their productions of 'A Christmas Carol' and the rock opera, 'Chess'. Beyond, vocal performance, Julie Gatz does numerous commercial vocals, voiceovers and children's educational video soundtracks including the City of Bellevue, Washington's Pedbee, the pedestrian Safety Bumble Bee. Julie also took first place in the regional American Standard 'Singing in the Shower' product promotion in 2006 for her rendition of 'All that Jazz'. She went on to perform live for the WB morning show in New York City. Julie creates, writes and performs throughout the Puget Sound area and beyond.
