The CD Whiteville was recorded in 1998 literally in a home studio in Whiteville NC. Kathryn had returned from her stint in Nashville where she played the Bluebird and worked as a backing vocalist and demo singer. What started as a way of passing the time, turned into a critically acclaimed album. With songs that echo the loneliness of rural America, Tobacco and Dust and Way, to songs that rock out like Tramp and Whiteville and 50 miles, to rockin covers by Graham Parsons and The Louvin Brothers, to traditional country, Drifter, This Album was ahead of it's time. It personified Kathryn's ability to write universal lyrics, addicting melodies and catch phrases, and not to mention a true, high and lonesome, soulful rocking voice as well as a gritty, talented band. It received critical acclaim in Mags like No Depression and Rootstown, And she conquered the Southeast with a fantastic tour. Anyone who loves country, bluegrass, Rockin Americana, will not love but adore this album. It is a must to any collection and trust me, the girl can SING!Look for her new CD, BETTER, to be released here at CD Baby in September!!
