Kay has been a frequent guest during her career on the Bobby Jones Show. She released her first CD in 1976 God's Amazing Love, as the Lead singer of the Kay Robinson Singers' during her membership of Brentnell Church of Christ Church. Other recordings included We Need Time, Holy, & Because of Whose I am. Kay has traveled around the world spreading the gospel, and currently ministers inside many of the State Prisons. She was recently named Ambassador of Peace to Korea in July of 2007. Her debut album release was held at the Rhema Christian Center under the leadership of Apostle LaFayette Scales DD located at 2100 Agler Road, Columbus, Ohio on October 5, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. This CD 'I'm Saved' is the fulfillment of a phrophecy that was given by an acclaimed prophet R&B Godfather of Soul James Brown. Mr. Brown walked into a Cincinnati Ohio Recording Studio (King Recording Co) where a engineer was listening to Kay's audition tape. James heard her voice and exclaimed 'I've never heard a voice like this'. James ordered his production manager Bud Hobgood, to notify Kay and set up an appointment with him to discuss signing her as a 'gospel artist'. Mr. Brown arranged to open a gospel production company just to record Kay. James and Kay met at the studio and talked for hours. He was captivated by Kay's spiritual knowledge of God and asked her questions about his many encounters with the Lord. James began singing in the church as a youngster. Kay was convinced that God was calling him back to his roots only to witness to the millions of young people who followed him in R&B. James offered Kay her first recording contact, and set up her first recording sessions after signing. He decided to do a single first (The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow). Mr. Brown sang back ground himself. Kay could not believe her eyes, 'this superstar of R&B backgrounding the old gospel song with such enthusiasm. It happened, a moment in time, a beginning, a blessing for a child of God who had labored directing and teaching others to sing in great church choirs. Finally, she gets a break. James enjoyed remembering singing in church, walking on the back of benches, making the people scream and shout. Singing his style, singing old hymns with a James Brown beat. The first single sold immediately, and Mr. Brown was pleased that his choice was correct. He immediately financed an LP recording, and named it 'We Need Time'. In the terms of recording it sold, (broke), & (hit) over the airwaves of Little Rock Arkansas, then Knoxville Tennessee, Louisville Kentucky & Dayton, Ohio. Then the real reason James had shown so much interest in Kay surfaced. Mr. Brown asked Kay to 'switch' her career to R&B. This was a major opportunity, but Kay said 'No'. Kay knew her destiny was to witness, and to save those lost in sin. Down through the years Kay has witnessed to hundreds of people in churches, prisons, and children's diagnostic centers. She saw them turn their lives over to the Lord. Kay knew her destiny to sing for the Lord would not be fulfilled in any other way but by the ministry of gospel music. The decisions had been made, Mr. Brown went his way, and Kay God's way. Mr. Brown gave a word of prophecy, and said, 'You are green, (meaning inexperienced), and would go off the scene of music for a while. But when you return, you'll cut a hit CD'. Kay did leave scene of recording after she recorded 3 more LPs There was a preaching & teaching ministry birthed over the years. But sure enough she has returned to fulfill prophecy, 'I'm Saved'. Kay states 'There is no greater purpose in life than to have God use you to fulfill his will on earth! For booking Information please contact Voice of Deliverance 937-206-2216 or 614-738-2623.
