Lightwave is a French electro-acoustic outfit that creates 'sonic performances' in the same way that painters and sculptors choose certain kinds of colors or materials. The result has elements of today's electronic sounds and also of older European cultures. Listeners are able to bring their own perspective and creativity to this type of music. This CD was inspired by the visions of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahé. A maverick in his day, Tycho developed instruments that were unprecedented in his day at measuring the positions of stars and planets. He was given to dueling, however, and one such duel in his youth sliced off part of his nose, and he made a silver alloy to replace it.
