The Short Of It! Lucky Leo is a Los Angeles-based electronica artist specializing 'hybrid-electronic' music. His debut album entitled 'S.O.L.' blends electronic music with other genres by featuring a diverse group of guest vocalists (including hip-hop lyricists and singer/songwriters). The record is being released under his independent label, Wack Records, and a live show is currently being planned. The album will be available September 16th. The Long Of It! 'Lucky' Leo Der Stepanian started tinkering with computers and music when computers were geeky and most uncool. After earning his college degree and working at several high-profile recording studios in Los Angeles, the 23 year old 'studio wiz' decided he was ready to produce his debut album. Lucky's classical training, technical expertise, and extensive world travel give him a unique perspective on the world which is reflected in his music. By fusing sounds from different cultures and genres with cutting-edge technology (he builds a lot of his own synthesizers and programs his own music software), he has created a sound that is uniquely his own. 'Many people think of electronic music as being mindless, repetitive, and devoid of soul. That couldn't be further from the truth,' he says in his Los Angeles studio. 'Electronic music is the most diverse and expressive genre of music out there right now. It's the only genre that consistently pushes the envelope and explores new musical territories. It can be just as beautiful as any other kind of music and I tell anyone who doesn't believe me to listen to BT, Hybrid, or Zero 7--These guys mix cutting edge music with powerful lyrics and that really packs an emotional punch. I hope to do the same with my music.' DJs and electronic fans across the web have taken an active interest in Lucky's work. His popular remixes including the 'Slowjam' of BT's Force of Gravity and the 'old-school remix' of Jay-Z's 99 Problems have garnered rave reviews. After nearly two years of painstaking work Lucky has succeeded in launching his independent label, Wack Records, and finishing his debut album entitled 'S.O.L.'
