Mark Hamza's Great Swamp Blues Band
Mark Hamza Mark started playing accordion at 8 years old. His current accordion was purchased when he was age 14. Graduating college with a BSChE. He bought a Hammond organ instead of trying the chemical industry. Mark has played with the Happenings, sat in with Jonny Coates, Phil Woods and Al Cohn. He currently plays with Clarence Spady and Howard Parker and the Hot Takeout Band. His current project, The Great Swamp Blues Band, is inspired by the organ trios and quartets of the 50's and 60's which played Blues and tunes from the Great American Songbook. Mark has also played in Europe and for a long time in the Key West area of Florida. He plays regularly in New York City, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The other members of the band are: Tony Carfora (Tenor saxaphone), Rick Chamberlain (Trombone), Jim Daniels (Trombone), Barry Harrison (Drums), Paul Kendall (Flute and Tenor Sax), Saunders Sermons (Trombone), Steve Shiposh (Drums).
