He's in the Wind
Marty Cummings, who discovered at an early age his love for music and started learning guitar when he was nine, soon found in the instrument a vehicle for composing his own music. As Marty himself puts it, I've never been content to only play other people's music. I've always had the burning desire to write my own material.'Marty played in various bands throughout the Midwest. In 1997, he returned to his hometown of Evansville, he released 15 original songs on his first CD, 'Shades of Blue', which got airplay on WIKY in Evansville and WSWI, The University of Southern Indiana radio station. His motivation for writing changed dramatically somewhere between 2001 and 2002 when he experienced a 'spiritual awakening' of great magnitude. 'I've completely given my life to Jesus, 'says Marty. 'I believe without a doubt that he has called me for a world wide music ministry. He is literally placing these songs in my heart and I give him all the glory and am forever grateful.' I've listened to Marty again and again over the years and written about his music. He plays and performs with a genuine intensity I've seen in few others. I thought he already put everything he could into every note. Perhaps he's found a way to give even more.' -Byron Rohrig, newspaper reporter, Evansville, Ind.
