Playing to crowds all across America, it's no wonder the Metermaids EP sustained a top 20 position on the CMJ Hip Hop charts for two months straight. Their broad appeal is undeniable. Whether it's a packed out college show, a showcase at SXSW, or a saturday night at the Viper Room in L.A., Metermaids always rock the venue. Classic hip hop/pop crossover, 'Don't Sleep' from the EP was used frequently on MTV and on late night FOX TV, and now the follow up full-length album, 'Nightlife', is ready to hit the airwaves! Metermaids is two New York emcees, Swell and Sentence. Backed by the production prowess of 27 Sound founder Matt Stine, the package is complete. Fueled by the constant output of music from Stine's studio, the two emcees soon realized that they had something special. After a hugely successful debut as a duo at New York's legendary lower east side club, Sin-e, it was confirmed. Sentence officially joined Metermaids, and the results have been electric. Metermaids has made their name on the quality of their live shows. Metermaids plays often in their home base of New York City, packing out clubs such as The Knitting Factory, Mercury Lounge, Sin-e, and CBGB's. A highlight of 2006 was a showcase performance at the North by Northeast music conference in Toronto, Canada, where Metermaids made Toronto's NOW Magazine's critic's list of sixteen must-see artists out of over 400 bands. In 2007, Metermaids went on two national tours including a showcase at SXSW and two shows at the world famous Viper Room in L.A.
