At the Crossroads
Mike McCarroll is a country music singer, songwriter, and recording artist based near Atlanta, Georgia. His new album 'At The Crossroads' reflects his analogy of music being a roadway with distinct intersections of genres. 'There are intersecting points where one genre is almost indistinguishable from another' he says. 'For example, rock is often mixed with country to the degree you have to wonder is it rock or is it country? As a songwriter, I try to write in those intersections. Different people like different things. I hope my music provides a little something for everybody'. His music has been described as authentic, connected to current times, and very soulful. Mike's major influences include Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Steve Earle, Alan Jackson, Chris Knight, John Mellencamp, Ray Scott, Montgomery Gentry and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Mike's band Greyheart is comprised of a superb group of professional musicians with several decades of combined experience both live and in the studio. The new album also features several top-notch session artists that include: -- Jody Worrell (formerly of 80's gold album selling country band Atlanta) who provides outstanding slide guitar. -- 2003 Grammy Award winning fiddle player, Bobby Flores. -- The great Tommy Detamore, on pedal steel. Tommy has played and recorded with numerous major artists and is considered one of the best pedal steel players in the world. Mike McCarroll & Greyheart will kicking off a tour in the near future to promote the new album.
