Mike McNutt has been playing bagpipes for the last 18 years, running the traditional gauntlet of bagpipe bands, solo bagpipe competitions, traditional Scottish, Irish and Cape Breton music. He plays Great Highland Bagpipes and also plays Scottish Smallpipes, penny whistle, guitar, and on some occasions Bodhran. His musical stylings have been heavily influenced by bands and artists such as: Flogging Molly, The Dropkick Murphys, Natalie MacMaster, Ashley Macisaac, Hamish Moore, Seven Nations, Neil Anderson and many others. Currently Mike is piping and touring the U.S. with Tartanic. Redline is his debut solo album, featuring a wide canvas of traditional music with a contemporary influence ranging from a solo bagpipe track to a set of hornpipes played as a bossa nova, in addition to an original composition, "The Dirty Margarita".
