Moker Jarrett / Cut This Moker grew up in the coastal area of Northeast Florida. His dad was a coach, and somehow one of his buddies gave Moker his nickname when he was about six. The folk masses at St. Paul's were Moker's earliest guitar /vocal conquests, and that has turned into a lifetime of writing and singing songs. Influenced by a list of Who's Who in music, there isn't a single name you could lay blame on for this writers crafty approach. Moker has performed for years in every honky-tonk, watering hole, and throw-down around, and in addition to the country here continues to throw down classic rock with his group, Moker Jarrett with Lucky Stiff. My Granny and Mom were exceptional influences of my outlook on life. My wife gives me a great deal of support to continue to pursue writing at this level. True creativity can come only from a place inside of you that is an upwelling of your influences and experiences in life coming out, in this case, in the form of song. Having the freedom to create music that appeals to a wide variety of people is simply a great thing to be doing. Country has become a favorite genre of Moker's and is the sole focus of this collection of tunes. His main co-writer Dale Peaden from Panama City shares life's experiences through lyrics that give the listener a vision into the story unfolding. Whether kicking it out with tunes like Roll it Up Shirley, or the heartfelt Even the Candles Cried, listeners are sure to get a dose of what the heart of this journey is all about. Great songs inspire people, so when you go away humming the melody to the tune you just listened to, remember, some songwriter, somewhere, sat down and started that song on a piano, or an acoustic guitar. Jason Roller, Dennis Parker, and Heather Cowles offer up fine performances of the songs Moker and Dale have etched out here. Other co-writers include, Robert George/Anything for a Kiss, Corey Parkman/I'm Under the Impression, and Melissa Evans/ Trailer Park Sexy. Magicshack Demos in Nashville (run by Jason Roller) is where all these songs were recorded, and then mastered at VisionSound in Jacksonville, Florida. These songs were all written and recorded during an eight month period and are collected here for fans of great music to enjoy, and to catalog the beginning of a great Country songwriting partnership that is sure to garner a string of hits along the way. Enjoy!
