'INFINITE EMBRACE' is the new CD by Monty Guy. It shows growth, development, and maturity; with a touch of humor. The album represents a challenging and polished musical project with it's pleasing collection of classically tinged, yet original, popular melodies. The song selections are a combination of vocals and instrumentals. The production quality is outstanding. The art concept and presentation (packaging and disc) are tasteful and attractive...it just looks real nice! The album's strength is it's originality; while the song arrangements show dedication to, and a genuine love of sound, song, and the beauty in music. The album begins with MONTY's tongue in cheek R & B flavored lamentation about the trials and frustrations of expressing burgeoning love at a date's home; while he sings of his obvious disappointment because her 'Daddy's Sitting Here'. Notwithstanding appropriate respect being given in the circumstances, it's tough to 'work' under such conditions, suggests MONTY. This song was included in the 48th GRAMMY® AWARDS Entry List as BEST MALE R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE. The next song 'Open For Love II (Overdrive)' is a spicy uptempo orchestral re-arrangement of a song he introduced as a warm, tasteful, though reserved groove earlier in his career. This is an example of his artistic maturity. He sings of having found a new love interest at two in the morning in the diner where he worked. While being smitten, hypnotized, and losing his heart when she walked in through the doorway, he earnestly confesses that his heart was 'Open For Love'. Unfortunately, although she placed an order, he was not pleased to learn that his 'menu wasn't what she was thinking of'. Consistent with other songs in the Monty Guy catalog, the energetic 'INFINITE EMBRACE' delivers intellectually stimulating compositions, displays elegant arrangements, and reflects a genuine love of music. 'Your Love Saved Me Tonight' is a lovely, well constructed 'crooner style' ballad that reveals MONTY's sensitivity d'amore and sensuous sincerity; while it exposes his penchant for embracing matters of the heart. These songs also uncover his determination to assiduously reflect on issues of love and emotional well being. This song was included in the 48th GRAMMY® AWARDS Entry List as SONG OF THE YEAR. 'Ethereal Kiss' is a spirited instrumental with overt Brazilian influences. MONTY clearly enjoyed producing 'INFINITE EMBRACE'. The passion and mature musicianship are evident, as are the superb vocal control and artistic patience displayed during delivery on the mellow 'easy listening' ballad entitled 'My Heart's One Desire', which was included in the 48th GRAMMY® AWARDS Entry List as BEST MALE R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE. 'Melody With A Swing' (Featuring The Pazant Brass), is accurately reminiscent of the 'big band era' style of instrumental orchestration which MONTY seems to love. The musicians of the ensemble did very well handling the challenge of this song, which was created to showcase their unique skills, and to clearly express MONTY's appreciation of their genuinely enthusiastic, consistently warm, imaginative and excellent craftwork in his behalf. 'My Lover & Friend' is an excellent composition; presented with a light jazzy texture. The lyrics suggest a sense of the artist reflecting on real world pragmatism; with a touch of melancholy which gets reworked into more wholesome feelings of true love, emotional elevation, and the meaningful inspiration engendered by 'being deep in love once again with...my lover and friend'. The vocal delivery is, again, patient and sincere, while the trumpet solo phrasing is a true work of artful excellence. 'I'll Always Love You' describes the 'big band reggae style' that is integral to MONTY's Easy Listening NEW AGE ORCHESTRAL POP style. The composition deftly incorporates two guitar rhythms; reminiscent of the 'Blue Beat' and 'Ska' styles of the reggae genre. The acoustic piano track magnificently incorporates a 'Broadway, Soft-Shoe type' styling that is well supported by, and augmented with a more traditional reggae 'feel' on the organ. The bass track shows superb artistry with it's velvet substance and melodic phrasing. The brass section provides the exquisitely styled Caribbean spicing so necessary to creating and recalling the sensual experience of delightfully exotic cuisine. The smooth vocal track delivers the heartfelt lyrics with patience and sincerity, as MONTY eloquently declares that 'I'd give the melody that's all to me, for the thrill of having you near'. The drums provides a classic originality that is improved upon only by it's own excellence in the 'big' ending. Overall, this song, with it's moderate uptempo timing, is a well constructed masterpiece, elegantly presented with elements of quality art, tasteful passion, and timeless style. 'INFINITE EMBRACE' with it's twelve tracks is a noteworthy improvement over the well liked 46th GRAMMY® AWARDS Nomination Ballot participant CD 'FROZEN FIRE' by Monty Guy. The blend of maturity, originality, variety, and enhanced production quality makes this new CD album worthy of many satisfying and pleasure filled listening sessions in various venues. 'INFINITE EMBRACE', the new CD by Monty Guy, qualifies for two enthusiastic thumbs up as a superb effort in the original music production art form. A commendable creative venture. It is pleasing to the ears, while being a delight to the soul. *******SO VERY NICE******* A recently published release, 'INFINITE EMBRACE' was invited to participate in the 48TH GRAMMY ® Awards NOMINATION BALLOT PROCESS.
